Cahro and Andre is sharing with us their beautiful beach wedding at Sea Trader venue in the Cape St. Martin Nature Reserve on the West Coast. A sea side wedding on the rocks with friends and family, the perfect setting to become husband and wife. Charo chose a soft and neutral pallet for her decor which translated into a romantic affair. Start your week with this lovey wedding, as photographed by Christene de Coning.
Lovebirds | How did you two meet?
We were in the same high school, but didn’t official meet until a sleepover at a new
friends house- a new friend who happened to be André’s little sister.
Years of friendship, carpools, family holidays and growing up- we finally saw that ours
was love that couldnt be explained as just being friends. How else could we justify
weekly movie dates, being attached to the hip on all occasions and being the only people
to laugh at each others jokes- this was love. Still is.
I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?
The day started with an adventure filled morning of distance walking and lagoon
crossing where we finally settled on a beautiful secluded spot on Grotto Beach
(Hermanus). After losing an impromptu race from the water- I found André waiting for me on one knee.
Of course I said yes. Who wouldn’t when the love of your live is waiting, on a beach, in
the middle of nowhere – with your favourite chocolate brownies, champagne and the
most delicate ring to fit your finger.
We spent the rest of the afternoon in that spot, talking about the new chapter that awaited
us. Excited, happy and a little sunburnt.
The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
It was a windy summers day on the West Coast. The closer it got to walking down the
aisle- the more the wind (and our emotions) picked up. In the moment that we touched hands at the end of the aisle on that windy beach- it was as if everything settled. Nothing else mattered- except the two of us and this new promise to one another.
I Quote | Describe in one sentence your wedding day
We were surrounded by the people who most loved us, and who we loved the most- our
wedding day was beautiful.
Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides
The big day goes by so fast. Take a few minutes with your new husband away from your
guests just enjoy the event and change that is taking place in that moment. You will cherish it forever. His hand in yours, the way he looks at you, the goofy smile that made you love him in the first place.
